Good day, dear readers!
Just a few days ago, my beloved husband and I were vacationing in the wonderful place of DUBAI Today, in my review, I want to tell you about my experience visiting the observation deck in the UAE.
Let me digress a little.
So far, I have visited three observation decks in the UAE. This year, we were in Abu Dhabi and stayed at the Observation Deck at 300, an observation deck on the 74th floor. And the third location is the one I will tell you about in my review.
Location:
The observation deck is located in Dubai on Palm Island. I am sure that you can get to this location from anywhere in Dubai by public transport, but we didn’t bother to find out (although we enjoy riding the Dubai Metro in the gold carriage).
We rented a car and drove to our destination. We used the 2GIS navigation app, got a little confused at the entrance, and didn’t immediately understand where to turn into the car park, but we figured it out quickly enough.
We saw the building where the observation deck is located from afar. It’s hard to miss. It’s a tall rectangular tower. Pure geometry. However, we didn’t immediately understand how to get from the car park to the entrance to the observation deck.
First, we went into the St. Regis hotel, then somewhere else… but in the end, we found it. Probably because of the exhausting heat, we were a little confused )))
First, we went to buy tickets. Here we had a little hiccup. After buying the tickets, we found out that there are two observation decks, on the 52nd and 54th floors.
We didn’t know that and bought tickets for the 52nd floor…
Personally, I didn’t mind, as I didn’t think there would be much difference between the two floors! But my husband was very disappointed, as he really wanted to go to the 54th floor.
My husband tried for a long time to find out from the staff how to upgrade our tickets to the 54th floor, but no one would explain it to us, so we settled for the 52nd floor!
The second nuance.
When buying a ticket, we were asked which option we were interested in.
Just a ticket to the observation deck or a ticket with the lounge included?
We chose the simplest ticket because, as a rule, we don’t eat what they offer in the lounge. We are avid PPers…
And then I wondered
Maybe the ticket with access to the lounge is for the 54th floor? And 52 without the lounge?
The price for visiting the observation deck is 100 AED per person, which is 2,400 roubles.
The observation deck in Abu Dhabi cost exactly half as much, but we paid several times more for Burj Khalifa. If I’m not mistaken, there were about 15,000 people there in total.
After paying for the ticket, we weren’t allowed onto the platform straight away.
They told us to stand aside and wait until more people gathered.
It was time to go to the 52nd floor!
We stepped out and were stunned. The island of Palma was right there in front of us!
The first thing I did was take a gorgeous photo.
I was surprised that this was an open-air platform (like a balcony). All the other platforms in the Emirates were enclosed.
Here you can breathe fresh air and sunbathe properly.
The weather was hot, my head was burning… I regretted not bringing a hat ten times!
There are special transparent ladders on the platform that you can stand on.
They offer an even better view, plus the height and beauty are breathtaking. If you tilt your head down, you can see an outdoor infinity pool. People are actively swimming there.
My husband really wanted to go to this pool, we wanted to buy a ticket, but there were no seats available that day, and we were flying out the next day.
Wow! From this side of the observation deck, we saw Burj Al Arab (the famous sail-shaped hotel). By the way, at that time, we were staying right near this sail at the Madinat Jumeirah Dar Al Masyaf hotel.
It’s great!
At first, I thought that the 52nd floor was low, since we were on the 74th floor in Abu Dhabi and on the 154th floor in Burj Khalifa… but no… the 52nd floor is also cool… I had the feeling that it was higher than 52 floors!
Overall, the observation deck is wonderful.
The windows are clean, they don’t create glare or distort the view.
The observation deck is very conveniently built, we didn’t crowd together, there was a lot of free space, considering that there were quite a few tourists! As a bonus, there was an interactive part, which is also a plus… other observation decks did not offer such entertainment! I did not find a single downside to this location. I give this observation deck five stars and wholeheartedly recommend visiting it!
